The Worst Sleep Paralysis I’ve Ever Experienced
Last night was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I know how dramatic that sounds but I was truly afraid. I’ve been suffering from sleep paralysis since I can remember and am now a female in her 20’s. I’ve researched the topic for years but never really understood why it was happening to me. I would call myself lucky because up until last night, my episodes weren’t as ‘scary’ as some. Don’t get me wrong, they have all be truly horrifying and I wouldn’t wish them upon my worst enemy. But I would only ever hear things, never see them. I’d hear voices, footsteps, doors slamming almost everything creepy but I’d never see the scary figures. Last night, I woke up at around midnight. After trying to fall asleep a few times I eventually did and at first I thought I was dreaming. But soon realized that wasn’t the case. Not sure if anyone else experiences this while in sleep paralysis but it is as though my mind is playing jokes on me. I feel myself in the paralysis then I get up and I’m okay. But that’s not the case as I’m still in the same position in my bed struggling to move or breathe. I felt myself get up about three times but was almost tricked into seeing something that wasn’t real. I never got up. Each time I’m thrown back into the episode and the heaviness on my chest seems to increase and the pressure on my limbs begins to hurt. Then I heard what sounded like my Mum walking into my room to check on me. That’s when I went into panic mode and began to scream and cry for her to help me. I was facing my window and saw what looked to be a yellow glow peaking around the edges. As if something was shinning through. That’s when I heard it. Whatever IT was. As I was screaming for help, all that was coming out of my mouth was sporadic air. This thing then proceeded to mock me. It was copying the breath sounds I was struggling to make and was imitating me and laughing at the same time. It felt like pure darkness. Suddenly, I forced myself up and again. I can’t be sure if I actually was coming out of the paralysis or if it was a vision but as I did, the thing was kneeling at the edge of my bed and I came face to face with it. The only way I can describe it is it looked like an alien. It has no clothes on and I noticed it didn’t have any ‘private parts’. It’s skin was a blue/grey color and it was matte and smooth. It has big, claw like hands and a very large, chiseled head. I couldn’t see it’s eyes but I sure as hell could see it’s grin. It was smiling at me as if it was taking joy out of my fear. It grabbed me and pushed me back into the bed and that’s when I jolted awake, screaming. So loud that I thought I’d woken up the entire street. That’s never happened to me before in my life. I’ve read stories about ‘The Hag’ and how she thrives on the fear. I really cannot explain what happened to me last night but I’m terrified to sleep tonight.
