My Son’s Doppelgänger
I know that what I’m about to tell you sounds completely impossible but I’m a level headed person and this truly happened to me. In the spring of 2017 my oldest son (i have 3 children), purchased a blue buick LeSabre from his now father in law. Not long after this my son and his family took a trip to the panhandle of Florida for a baby shower, driving the car he had just purchased. We live in Green Bay and even though it was spring, it was still quite cold and my son posting pictures and videos from those white sandy beaches wasn’t helping much. One day while my son was in Florida, my younger son called me and asked me if i would pick my granson up from school that day. I told him i would and began to clean up my apartment and finish up some laundry. The time cam to go get my grandson so i locked up my apartment and got in my truck. I drove to the entrance of my complex and as i looked to my right I could see a familiar looking car coming from the direction of Ashland Avenue. At the time, my oldest son was working for the Packer organization in charge of inventory at the warehouse and overseeing nightly maintenance at the locker rooms at the stadium. This BLUE LeSABRE was coming from the direction of the warehouse. At first I thought it was just an instance of seeing a car like my son’s but as it came closer i could see much more. The person behind the wheel of that car was my son! He has a very distinctive beard that grows out orange near his face but gets darker as it gets longer. this person had that beard. Even though my son worked for the Packers he has always been a die hard Falcons fan and this person was wearing his favorite Falcons snap back hat. I was stunned. I watched this guy pass in front of me. I honked my horn but he didn’t look. I watched him go up to the intersection of Cormier and Oneida and take a right turn toward Lambeau field. this event had shaken me and i realized i was now late in picking up my grandson. I grappled with the decision to try and follow this person or get to my grandson. I chose my grandson because I’m fairly sure I never would have found that person. It’s a mystery to me to this day.
