5 Mysterious Accounts Of Time Travel
How incredible would it be if we could travel through time? I’m sure given the chance we would all like to try it if only to see what the future holds, or to go back and visit much-missed relatives from the past.
However despite the incredible technology out there nowadays to date there is no real evidence that it is possible. Never the less, over the years there have been numerous accounts of people claiming they have either travelled through time or have come from another dimension or world that as yet is undiscovered…. and here are five instances of just that, one of which is truly insane that we I cant believe isn’t more well known
This story is pretty bizarre as it happened to the most unlikely person.
On the morning of June 18th, 1968 an elderly couple from Tunbridge Wells in the UK, went into town for their weekly shopping trip. The pair decide to split for a while and meet up later.
Mrs Charlotte Warburton said goodbye to her husband and headed out to find some coffee as the brand she usually bought was not available at her usual store, so she went to the Supermarket instead.
As she entered the shop she saw a small cafe on the left-hand side…. she was slightly puzzled as she didn’t remember there being a cafe there before. What was stranger was that it seemed somewhat old-fashioned for such a new supermarket….It had wood panelled walls, no windows and very old fashioned electric light fittings.
She also noticed two women in long dresses sitting at one table and about half a dozen men sat at other tables; all wearing dark lounge suits; this seemed very odd attire for the late sixties!
Apart from that everything seemed normal, they all seemed to be chatting and drinking coffee as people do………so she didn’t think too much of it, and carried on with what she had come in for.
She then went to meet her husband, and at the time made no mention of the cafe and its strange customers.
However, when the couple returned the following week, Mrs Warburton decided to take her husband and show him the unusual cafe she had seen the previous week. But when they reached the area there was no cafe!….They asked in the Supermarket where the cafe had gone and were told there was no cafe and never had been. But what they were told was that before the supermarket was built, it was the site of the Kosmos Cinema and they were advised to talk to someone at the nearby Tunbridge Wells Constitutional Club.
So the couple made their way to the club where they spoke to the steward who told them the club had once owned the building adjoining the Cinema where the supermarket now stood. He also revealed that at the rear of that building was a small bar with tables for coffee and refreshments. When Mrs Warburton described what she had seen the week before, it was the exact description of how the refreshment bar was at that time!
They found out the cinema and the bar were long gone….. but it seems Mrs Warburton had experienced a time slip and found herself back in the old refreshment bar.
What makes this story so convincing is that Mrs Warburton had no reason to make it up, she was an ordinary woman who gained nothing from relaying what she knows she saw.
Now, this is not the first case of someone who claimed they came from an unknown country; the most famous being the Taured man……. but it may be one of the earliest reported.
The case came to light when John Timbs wrote about it in his 1852 book “Year-Book of Facts in Science and Art;” a factual publication that was praised at the time for its accuracy.
The person in question was called Jophar Vorin a man who was picked up at the end of 1850 when he was found wandering aimlessly around a small village near Frankfurt in Germany. The man who spoke in fragmented German appeared Caucasian in origin but when questioned by the burgomaster, claimed he came from a country called Laxaria, located in a part of the world called Sakria…..He understood basic German and read and wrote in what he called the Laxarian and Abramian language.
The man said he was a Christian who studied the religion of Ispatian, and that he had come to Europe in search of his long-lost brother, but had been shipwrecked and now found himself in a place he didn’t know……When shown a map he was unable to trace his route and claimed that his home in Laxaria was many hundreds of miles from Europe and was separated by vast oceans. He explained that Sakria was one of five sections of the Earth that included Aflar, Aslar, Auslar, and Euplar.
The authorities in Frankfurt were baffled by the man and decided to send him to Berlin where he was allegedly studied by scientists…..however his fate is unclear, and we can find very little information about what happened to him.
If anyone knows anything or can add to this story, Top5s would love to hear from you.
This one is a lesser-known but more convincing incident of time travel, it was experienced in an era when any suggestion of timeslips probably would have got you locked up, so the two ladies who supposedly witnessed it kept their identities secret for over 20 years…. It’s a long story so here it goes….
In the summer of 1901, Charlotte Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain travelled from England to Paris starting out on a three-week sightseeing trip.
Both ladies were highly educated, and were hoping the trip would be educational as well as a chance to get to know each other……with Eleanor hoping to secure a position at the all-female Oxford college, St Hugh’s; where Charlotte was the principle.
On August 10th 1901 after a few days touring Paris the pair boarded a train to Versailles, neither woman was particularly enthusiastic about the trip and was expecting it to be a rather a dull experience.
After looking around the Palace, they decided to explore the grounds and visit Petit Trianon, a small château that the newly crowned Louis the fourteenth gave to his young Queen, Marie Antoinette…
After a long walk, they first reached the Grand Trianon; a retreat Louis used to pursue his affair with Madame de Montespan…..But they found it was closed to the public, so the pair continued walking in search of Petit Trianon, although they soon realised they were lost! As they looked around wondering where they were, Charlotte noticed a building and saw a woman in the window shaking a white cloth; around the same time Eleanor saw a deserted farmhouse with an old plough at the side. Neither women said anything to each other at the time, but later revealed they had felt a strange oppression come over.
As the pair ventured further, they noticed two men in the distance, with wheelbarrows and spades; initially, they thought the men were gardeners…..but as they got closer they realised they were dressed in long greyish green coats, wearing tri-cornered hats (not usual gardeners attire.) They asked the men the way, who told them to continue straight ahead.
Eleanor then noticed a cottage with a woman and girl standing in the doorway; both had a white handkerchief tucked into their bodice; she later described the two as similar to a pair of wax figures rather than human beings.
At this point, Charlotte became overwhelmed with extreme sadness, which seemed to intensify with every step and soon the ladies found themselves in a small wooded area with a circular garden pavilion. A man was sitting there wearing a cloak and a large sun hat. The place was lifeless, flat, and fake looking with no light, shade, or shadows and no wind in the trees…..The man turned and looked at the two women; his face was repulsive and dark with smallpox scars, and he stared at them with an expression of hate. Both women froze at the sight of him.
But they are then surprised by another man who approaches them. He is tall and handsome with dark eyes, wearing a large hat that is hiding his dark curly hair. He speaks a few words in French, smiles and directs them to proceed to the right, where they pass over a small bridge. Finally they reach the Petit Trianon, where Charlotte sees a regal-looking woman sitting on a stool, who appears to be sketching and is holding out a piece of paper at arm’s length as if to study her work. As the women get closer, the lady turns to look at them; her face is pretty but older, and she is wearing a white hat with light-coloured hair showing beneath and a long summer dress; It was not the sort of attire worn in the early 1900’s and was more akin to royal 18th-century fashion standards.
Without speaking, Charlotte and Eleanor left the area but continued to feel a growing oppressiveness in the air. As they walk to the opposite side, Charlotte sees the lady again, but this time she is wearing a pale green shawl….Shortly after both ladies leave the area and head back.
The women did not speak about what had happened until a week later when they both wrote down separate versions of what they encountered….. and compared notes. They then decide to revisit the Trianon gardens….. but the next time do not encounter any of the specific things they had seen previously…Most notably the pavilion and the bridge, are not there!
After doing some research, both ladies are convinced Trianon is haunted, and that the lady in the royal dress was the ghost of Marie Antoinette. It was established that Eleanor had not seen the lady, and Charlotte had not seen the cottage with the woman and girl standing in the doorway, but both had witnessed the scowling man with the marked face; who they determined was Joseph Hyacinthe François de Paule de Rigaud (the Comte de Vaudreuil), a nobleman at the court of King Louis the fourteenth of France.
In 1911 they publish the story of their strange trip under the pseudonyms Elizabeth Morison and Frances Lamont…. Critics judged that the tale was unlikely and suggested that the two women had misinterpreted already known cases of paranormal activity in the area……However, Parapsychologists had a different take on the story and proposed that the women had experienced a time-slip or some form of retrocognition.
What is fascinating about this case is that both women maintained the authenticity of what they had seen until the day they died, and their true identities as the authors of the book were not made public until 1931…
This is a new case and although we all know it’s not a real time traveller it’s been getting so much attention that I thought I would clear some stuff up about it….
In November 2017 Youtuber Paranormal Elite uploaded a video called “Time Traveler Who Has Been To The Year 2030 Shares His Experiences.”
The video features an American man living in Guadalajara Mexico who claims he was part of a US Government time travelling project. He is referred to as Noah, and his face is blurred out, he insists he does not want his identity revealed for fear of assassination. He claims that as a result of his time travelling he suffers from depression and anorexia and although he looks young his real age is 50, but he takes secret drugs that make him look 25…
Noah reads from a pre-prepared document and is visibly distressed and upset and explains that in early 2021 he travelled back to November 2017, but was fired by the Government and now finds himself stuck in the wrong year. He claims his natural year is 2021, but he has travelled as far forward as 2030.
Noah can be heard saying “I swear to God I am telling the truth” he also makes a number of predictions for the future including that Donald Trump will be re-elected…..there will be a revolution in Artificial Intelligence, and powerful computers will be worn like Google-style glasses…
He also states that in 2028 it will be revealed to the world that time travel exists and has been possibly since around 2003.
Now, this first clip didn’t really attract that much attention…. but when Paranormal Elites sister channel Apex TV uploaded a video in Feb 2018 again featuring Noah; where they asked him a series of questions about his claims while apparently attached to a lie detector it revealed he was telling the truth……..Noah also claims that he has an implant in his wrist that is housing future technology. The team then show an x-ray slide; apparently confirming there is something in his wrist.
This was when the newspaper got hold of the story, and it was reported around the world. We believe the videos and subsequent ones in the series by Apex TV are just light hearted entertainment…but good luck to the team who created them:)

Now, this incredible incident seems too good to be true, but see what you think…
In 2006 a man was spotted in Kiev, he appeared to be lost…. but what was odd about him was he was wearing clothes that didn’t fit with the time, and he was carrying a very old fashion camera.
When questioned by a police officer he claimed that he was from the past, but after taking a photo of a UFO, he had found himself in the future.
This sounds all a bit far-fetched after all anyone could dress up in outdated clothes carrying an old camera and claim the same thing…….However what is extraordinary about this case is that there are documents and photographs to back up what the man was saying.
The policeman who stopped the disorientated man asked him for some id, and he produced an ID card that had not been used for over 50 years and was from the time of the Soviet Union. The card showed the man’s name was Sergey Ponomarenko…..the policemen thought he was crazy and took him to a psychiatric clinic in Kiev. Where psychologist Parlo Kurtikov began to study the case to try and establish who Sergei’s was.
During interviews Sergey claimed he was born in Kiev on June 16th, 1932 and that he was 25 years old; which was the age he looked……even though technically he should have been in his 70’s! When questioned how he arrived in 2006 he said he went for a walk and noticed a strange object in the sky, and took a photo of it…..His camera was passed to photography expert Vadim Posner who was surprised to find that the film in the camera had ceased production in the 1970’s, however, the camera and the film were as new…
When the film was developed the images showed the city of Kiev in the 1950s. There was also a photograph of a 25-year-old woman and a photograph of Sergei in the same clothes he was found in….In addition to this, there was a photograph of the UFO and when Sergei was asked how he thought the UFO brought him here, he didn’t know.
After being questioned Sergei returns to his room in the hospital, and CCTV camera shows this…..but shortly after he disappears, although how he got out is unclear as the doors were locked and there were bars on the windows, and the CCTV throughout the hospital did not show him leaving.
But he was gone!
It was later proved that a man called Sergey Ponomarenko did exist during the Soviet period and was reported to have disappeared in 1960’s.
So was it a case of amnesia? A Hoax or one of the greatest time travel mysteries ever?
